Bass Canyon
A 3 day camping festival curated by Excision, held annually at the stunning Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State.

Scope :
National Campaign

Full Time
Overview :
Each year, in the weeks leading up to Lost Lands, I led the media team at Bass Canyon-Excision’s 3-day camping festival held at the iconic Gorge Amphitheatre. As Media Director, I oversaw all aspects of production including creative direction, budgeting, equipment logistics, and top to bottom daily team operations. With a smaller, focused crew pulled from the larger Lost Lands team, we embraced the lighter lift of a single-stage festival to concentrate on advanced visual techniques like long exposure photography, timelapses/hyperlapses, and premium cinematic compositions. The Gorge served as a breathtaking canvas, and we used state of the art equipment to capture its majesty and the emotional reactions of fans experiencing it for the first time. The result was a streamlined, detail-driven content operation that elevated the brand’s social presence and delivered exceptional media coverage year after year.

Daily Recaps :
Daily recaps are among the most demanding deliverables in the live music industry. From 10am to midnight, our team captures nonstop footage, then transitions into an overnight workflow where editors work in tandem to deliver a fully polished 60-second video by the following day at noon. This includes sound design, color grading, high-level pacing, and creative storytelling-executed under intense pressure and tight turnaround. A first draft is typically ready by 9am for stakeholder feedback, with polish, visual effects, and final touches completed in time for posting by 1pm PST. We repeated this process for 3 consecutive days without ever missing a delivery. The success of this workflow is a testament to the talent, precision, and dedication of the team, and I’m forever grateful to have led such a committed group bringing these real-time memories to life for fans around the world.
Results :
Over the course of 3 years, from the inception of the festival, we established a powerful visual identity that still defines Bass Canyon today. Through consistent leadership, creative innovation, and an unrelenting commitment to quality, we built a media production pipeline that delivered hundreds of high-impact content pieces each year—including cinematic recaps, artist spotlights, and real-time social assets. The content not only drove millions of impressions but also shaped the festival’s brand voice, elevated fan engagement, and set a lasting standard across the live music space. The foundation we built continues to inspire media teams and festival creatives across the industry.
